Soldier, wife accused of forcing kids to fight (3yr old girl 5yr old boy)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11993032/

A Fort Hood soldier and his wife have been accused of injury to a child for allegedly forcing their 3-year-old daughter to beat up an older boy as they videotaped it, Killeen police said.

Dennis Michael Bittinger, 22, was arrested Wednesday and his wife, Rhonda Nicole Bittinger, 23, was taken into custody Thursday, police said.

The fight allegedly occurred Saturday while the couple babysat for the 5-year-old son of a friend, police said. When the boy's mother arrived to pick him up, she turned on the couple's video camera, which had previously been used to tape the children playing.

Police said the tape shows the soldier commanding his daughter to knock the victim down, kick him and hit him in the face. The girl follows her father's instructions as the boy cries and pleads for her to stop, police said.

2. Neither will the freepers-some lesbian couple in South Africa killed a kid
so they are focused on the unsuitability of lesbians to be parents as opposed to straight military people.

Geez, how about recognizing that some people are dangerous around children, regardless of sexual orientation, ethncity, religion, employment or military records. Or recognizing that those things have little to do with making a person into someone who hurts children.

3. that assumes they ignorant of the logic they use --
they aren't -- they HATE us.

nothing will separate them from their hate -- their drive to dominate and and subjugate others to their point of view.

it's that harsh and that real.

conservatives are sick and dangerous -- period.

4. anyone can be sick & dangerous
freepers have a higher propensity for it! they love warfare, violence, and "control".

getting your kicks, pardon the pun, off forcing a THREE year old to hit & kick a FIVE year old to the ground and continue doing so and laughing about it, shows the mentality of a lot of the 'great' military forces we have. And any freeps reading this, my family has 4 active/inactive military, and one of them is borderline stupid like this, but has never done anything like this for 10 years, the other 3 would NEVER do such a deplorable act - so - like I said - a lot of the military, not all.

ABU GHRAIB trainees in the making, or whatever the holding prison they'll have for the next generation when we invade Canada warrantlessly.

Wonder if he's a bully in general or if his military service will be the explanation for this behavior.

9. Iraqi Vets are not like our Vietnam Vets atall.
Their basic training is to be a trained killing machine.
Then they can't turn it off when they come home.

Cripes, even dual personality guard dogs have a clue
when aggression isn't necessary!

21. It's not bad apples, it's a bad barrel...
Researcher: It's not bad apples, it's the barrel
Zimbardo's famous experiment 30 years ago sheds light on abuse photos
Friday, May 21, 2004 Posted: 11:59 AM EDT (1559 GMT)
<http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/05/21/zimbarbo.access/>

(CNN) -- The pictures of Iraqi prisoners being abused and humiliated at the U.S.-run Abu Ghraib prison have been chalked up to aberrant behavior by a "few bad apples." But is this an aberration -- or does this spring from a dark side inside most human beings?

O'BRIEN: In your study, was there a handful of sort-of bad apples in the group of these college students who were prison guards, who basically brought everybody else along with them?

ZIMBARDO: No, see that's what's been happening -- from Bush on down, we're saying it's a few bad apples, it's isolated. But what's bad is the barrel.

The barrel is the barrel I created by my prison -- and we put good boys in, just as in this Iraqi prison. And the barrel corrupts. It's the barrel of the evil of prisons -- with secrecy, with no accountability -- which gives people permission to do things they ordinarily would not.

So in the Iraqi situation, I know that there is boredom and it's an incredibly stressful job. They're very much afraid, there's no accountability.

In my prison you didn't have the CIA encouraging them to do it. And I think what's critical is trying to understand these trophy pictures -- which doesn't make sense. Why would you take a picture of yourself in front of your crime if you thought about the consequences?

And that's where what I call the Mardi Gras effect comes in. These people were trapped in a time -- a present-oriented time zone in which you never think of the future, you never think of the past. So at no point did they ever say, "Gee we will be in trouble if these pictures ever come out." These are trophy pictures.

10. Abu Grahib comes home
This is just the beginning.

When all these "bad apples" that have been told to beat, abuse and rape Iraqi detainees "for fun," just to "soften them up" come home, and they realize they are missing on the "fun," things will get ugly.

(Note: I am aware not all of the vets will be messed up, but a number of them who have been doing these things for three years now, may definitely bring their newly acquired "habits" home.)

Unless we're talking about the Branch Davidians or the Neo-Nazis, what does politics or religion have to do with child abuse?

12. "Let the motherfucker burn"...
This incident is unfortunately completely consistent with what this society has become. (Those of you who have not yet seen Fahrenheit 911, the quote is from that film, and it puts this in context, at least for me).

24. I don't think his being a soldier is why this
happened. Child abuse happens across the class and race spectrum. Maybe people who have a propensity to abuse children and the less powerful are attracted to the military because it is a legal outlet for their tendancies.

Just a thought.
