Blair urges war of 'values, ideas'
March 21, 2006

LONDON, England (AP) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair has defended his foreign-policy record, arguing for a global war of "values and ideas" to fight the threat of terrorism.

Blair used a speech in London on Tuesday to argue that the struggle against terrorism was not a clash of civilizations but "a clash about civilization."

Opponents have criticized Blair's willingness to back military intervention in Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Afghanistan and -- especially -- Iraq.

But Blair rejected "the doctrine of benign inactivity" in favor of "a politics of globalization" that sees the world's problems as interconnected.

Jeez, just what we need another war against something.

1. Sorry President Tony
Unlike Shrub, you don't have mouth-breathers to fall back on.

Noone cares what you have to say, just pissed off that you're still here

Blair, like his master the little shrub, can look forward to being a pimple on the ass of history.

4. How will YOUR values explain the thousands...
...of innocent children you and your buddy bush* have killed in Iraq?

How will you explain their brutal, bloody murders to your God when you stand before Him?

I have nothing but CONTEMPT for the values of the people who started this unnecessary war, and those who perpetuate it.

9. Tony is more like Bush's evil twin!
He has destroyed Labour by endorsing a lite version of Thatcherism, and he is as much a war criminal and liar as Bush.

10. Blair has lost all his credibility
Here's the last 24 hours comment, from The Guardian, the paper that, before 2003, would have been most likely to support him:

Three years of conflict in Iraq has corroded public trust in every aspect of his premiership, both domestic and foreign

the gap between his vision and grim reality

Blair insults our intelligence

Why the prime minister shouldn't do history (the URl seems to show the original title was "Blair is Dumb"!)

George Bush is Blair's real problem

And their Monday editorial:
Nine years is long enough

12. That is the height of arrogance, and typical of a British colonial mindset
The world's problems certainly are interconnected, but they're not going
to be solved by endless war.

You can't bomb people into seeing your point of view.

15. Is insanity contagious?
That would account for Blair's words and actions since Chimp got foisted on us by the SCOTUS. Was he this delusional before he started hanging out with Chimp?
