China's boom is killing life-giving sea
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=57190f82445a90e7

China's spectacular economic boom will destroy the Bohai Sea, unless action is taken to stop industrial pollution of its waters, environmental advisers say.

The Bohai, which is among only 12 internal seas in the world, is near 26 cities, including three of China's largest uran areas, Beijing, Tianjin and Shenyang, the London Independent reported.

The Bohai is known as the fish storehouse because it provides for many rare migratory species, but it is also one of China's most high-profile environmental blackspots, along with the Yangtze delta and the Pearl river delta.

Many beaches have closed due to regular red tides, huge algae blooms, lasting several days and swamping vast areas of sea with dangerous levels of toxins.

2. The Chinese are killing each other.....
there was an article in the LBN several months ago, about how several Chinese industrialists were caught dumping thousands of gallons of dangerous chemicals. These were on ships, and they just dumped 'em in the harbor. The chemicals then floated upstream, where people got sick.

It's the same old story.
