Colombian President Slaps 'Ignorant' Label On Bruce Willis
:rofl::rofl:

Hollywood Hunk, as well as talented actor, Bruce Willis is causing an international incident reports tPC fave, Jeannette Walls of the Scoop. Willis has been labeled "ignorant" and "ungrateful" by the president of Colombia after He claimed that the country's narcotics trade was murdering the United States, according to a published report.

The actor spoke out during the press conference arranged for his new movie '16 Blocks' last month. He said, "I'm talking about going to Colombia and doing whatever it takes to end the cocaine trade."

"It's killing this country. It's killing all the countries that coke goes into. I believe that somebody's making money on it in the United States. If they weren't making money on it, they would have stopped it."

But the President, Alvaro Uribe, is enraged. He says, ""This is an ungrateful attitude toward Colombia's sacrifices. This is arrogance, ignorance. This is an attitude that shocks the dignity of Colombia."

2. "Talented actor" Bruce Willis?
If he's serious about fighting cocaine abuse, I'm sure he could do some valuable work closer to home.

5. With BushCo calling the shots, it will never work
War, in general, never works.

The drug war, in particular, is corrupt beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and the BushCo Kult bears a major measure of responsibility

15. Sorry... to some folks here... but there is only ONE way we can
win the war on drugs. That is for everyone to STOP snorting coke and other drugs. Maybe legalize marijuana so those that need something to distort reality can do so legally.

I laugh at the hypocrisy of the US fighting the war on drugs...IF we didn't use them there wouldn't even be a need for drugs. How can we blame other countries? IT'S OUR OWN FAULT WE HAVE A DRUG PROBLEM! The public needs to be educated on just how many lives are ruined and people murdered and crimes committed because of drugs. All we seem to concentrate on is preventing drugs from entering our country and the sales of drugs...instead of encouraging/educating people not to use them.

Americans are a bunch of hypocrite's when they say we want to stop drug smuggling and throw those bums/crooks in jail when they turn around a use drugs themselves. Maybe if we put the users in jail we can at least slow down the trade. It's just like prostitution...the prostitute goes to jail but the user of their services goes scot free. Ain't right!
They are both guilty! Same with drugs.

19. A possible solution to the problem
is to legalize all drugs for adults and place heavy fines and medical penalties for public nuisance as a result of irresponsible usage. Social control without the billions of dollars wasted. Regulation works and it cuts out the crime world and deglamourizes the drugs as well. It works for soft drugs, I am convinced it can work for opiates, etc.

Distort Reality?

Using marijuana for central pain caused by paralysis is not distorting reality. Nor is it distorting reality for people w/glucoma, cancer, etc. It is relieving pain for millions that live in pain day in and day out.

A little education on your part might help also.

Grrr :grr:

26. Wrong. Willis is an idiot
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 02:18 PM by Julius Civitatus
And the USA can't solve its problems by invading whatever country idiots like Willis fancy invading.

The drug problem in the USA is not the problem of Colombia, really. The US has a huge appetite for what the impoverished farmers of a third world country offer. Moral and ethical issues aside, this is capitalism at is worst (something a dumb freeper like Willis should be able to understand).

The USA consumes massive amounts of drugs, and Colombia just supplies. While it has be fixed on both ends, I don't believe the US is doing anything to solve the serious drug problem in America, and throwing draconian drug laws and the incredibly ineffective "war on drugs" are not solving anything.

The only thing the "war on drugs" has created is a prison population that surpasses 2 million already. And of course a prison-complex industry.

But I guess that according to Willis, we should just nuke Colombia, problem solved.

I wonder how long it would take our "ally" Afghanistan to take over the market hole that Colombia would leave.

10. I'm an ex-smoker since Aug. of 2004 (cold turkey)
And I have never, ever, told a smoker off. I have, exercised my right to not have smoke in my face or near my person. And people lighting up in a non-smoking area I tell off.

But I've never gave shit to a smoker in a public place where smoking isn't illegal (say on the side walk).

Granted, I make a conscious effort to not be a non-smoking asshole, which does make me unique amongst most ex-smokers I know.

14. Then he was some kind of prodigy.
Edited on Wed Mar-08-06 11:07 AM by Jeff In Milwaukee
Willis was born in 1955, which would have made him 18 years old in 1973. Depending on when he actually enlisted, it would have been 1974 before he could have completed boot camp and been sent to Viet Nam. American combat troops were being sent home in mass during the first half of 1973. In April of 1974, the last Marine helicopter left the roof of the U.S. Embassy in Saigon.

Willis is an asshole and a hypocrit, but he didn't dodge military service in Viet Nam.

12. Bruce is a chickenshit armchari warrior
He "volunteered" for service in Iraq because he knew the US Army wouldn't take him due to his age.

Mr. Bigshot easily could have got a driving or security job with Blackwater or Halliburton. Did he go? No. What a self-serving attention whore.

God I'd love to get a piece of him. Come on, Bruce. Bring your boxing gloves and come to Atlanta. I'm 46. You can take me for sure.

18. it made sense to him.....at the time
Whatever, Bruce "stop saying I'm a republican" Willis. Maybe you should look closer to Hollywood to see where the heart of the cocaine problem lies, the demand-side. He's got some nerve. Instead of chastising the Hollywood scene for doing too much coke, he places all the blame on a litle country far away.
The notion "Look around you! It's Colombia's fault!!" sounded smart the day after a cocaine binge.

24. Bruce Willis is a freeper and he is as ignorant as O'Reilly
He just opens his big yapper and lets all the world know what an ignorant idiot he is. Yeah, the USA should just invade whatever country Bush fancies to fix our own problems. Like the Colombian president very wisely said, Colombia wouldn't be undergoing a civil war and had the drug production problem if the USA didn't have a massive problem with drug consumption. Even a good dumb freeper like Willis knows how the market works, right? This is offer and demand, pure capitalism, isn't it?

DUMBASS!!!

27. What a tool
and not a very bright or shiny one at that.

I read that interview posted a few weeks ago and he didn't sound very intelligent or informed. He talks tough, but if he had any real guts he'd actually go over and fight.

He doesn't seem to have a clue how and why the drug economy flourishes and whose fault a large part of it is (and it's not some poor peasant planting coca plants in Columbia or Opium in Afghanistan).
