Bush to Visit Hurricane-Damaged Gulf Coast

By DARLENE SUPERVILLE, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 46 minutes ago

WACO, Texas - Six months after Hurricane Katrina left its mark on the Gulf Coast, President Bush was returning again to the slowly rebuilding region Wednesday for another progress report.

Bush was to be updated on the rebuilding effort and tour part of New Orleans on his 10th trip to the region since the Aug. 29 storm. Afterward, he was flying east to view progress in the Biloxi-Gulfport area of Mississippi, another state hit hard by Katrina.

More than three-fourths of New Orleans was flooded after Katrina tore through, sending water through failed levees that were designed to protect the city from such a fate. Much of New Orleans remains a mess. Demolition of the worst-damaged homes in the hard-hit lower Ninth Ward and Lakeview areas only began this week.

The trip is the president's first to the region since two reports — one by a House committee, the other by the White House — criticized the government's response to Katrina.

3. Use the money on the levees or re-building a Mississippi subdivision
in Biloxi.
What an utter waste of our money to have that fool go there and be inane yet again.

5. "The medium is the message"
The "photo ops" WILL be carefully staged, there will be the token ignoramus with a reassured smile on his/her/their faces that the fearless leader of the western world has arrived, and suddenly the insurmountable task of rebuilding lives and homes ISN'T SO INSURMOUNTABLE, and a "ray" of hope and understanding will be shining on all (there will be great cinematic shots here).

So much of the irresponsibility and inaction of this putrid administration will be forgotten by the 6:00P.M. News. Thanks to those cleverly chosen words of hope and understanding from the fearless and hopeful patriot *&%#@, the great leader of the western world, brought to you by those fabulous cinematic shots narrated by Barbi Freedom and Ken America, your Nightly News READERS.

PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG! Wake up America Reality feels better!

7. I must have missed seeing some of his visits posted.
"Bush was to be updated on the rebuilding effort and tour part of New Orleans on his 10th trip to the region since the Aug. 29 storm."
He's been down in that area TEN times????
Or does that include his trips to Crawford, too, which of course, is in Texas? Please correct me if I'm wrong on the number of visits. It just doesn't seem like a high enough number. I've gotten really pissed off every time I see one of his hapless, inept, disgusting, pathetic photo ops of Katrina. :puke:
What's he gonna do? Go into someone's house with a dog and retrieve a dead body or something?
