Moussaoui sentencing trial begins

Moussaoui was in jail on the day but has pleaded guilty to conspiracy.

Judge Leonie Brinkema told jurors all they had to do was decide on his punishment and "be guided by reason and your sense of justice and not by bias".

Prosecutors argue he deserves the death sentence for not giving information which may have foiled the plot.

The defence is set to argue he knew less than the authorities themselves about the attacks which claimed some 3,000 lives.
