(Pat) Robertson Loses (Religious) Broadcaster's Board Seat
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 03:55 PM by KamaAina
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2006/03/02/national/a101953S26.DTL

Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, criticized by some evangelicals for comments about Venezuela's president and Israel's prime minister, lost a bid for re-election to the National Religious Broadcasters' board of directors.

Robertson, founder of the Virginia Beach-based Christian Broadcasting Network, was one of 38 candidates for 33 board seats during the NRB's recent convention. The group represents mostly evangelical radio and TV broadcasters....

A Robertson spokeswoman said Thursday that he had been a board member for 30 years but attended only one board meeting "due to his extensive schedule."

His "extensive schedule" of what? Smuggling conflict diamonds under the cover of "Operation Blessing"?

Um, 38 candidates for 33 board seats and he lost?! Doesn't that mean he finished 34th or worse? :woohoo:

Gee, maybe all religious broadcasters aren't morans after all!

edit: spelling

1. Something about having a *board* for spreading the message of Jesus
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 03:57 PM by Roland99
just smacks of hypocrisy.

Well, my guess is most of these broadcasters don't really follow, much less even know, the teachings of Jesus.

4. You're right about that...
As much as I despise the message Robberson spreads, he really does represent this crew beautifully. They honestly should have kept him aboard; but they fear for their image.

7. I s there anyone, anywhere that actually believes that if Jesus Christ
were to walk the earth today that he would approve of the hate-filled, intolerant, war mongering leaders (Falwell, Robertson, Dobson, Copeland, Bush, Santorum, et al) that call them selves "Christians"?

10. I thought for a moment that Robertson has lost his tv program.
We couldn't get that lucky, 'eh?

I'm waiting for the day that the IRS racks his stinky ass up.
