Bush: Iraqis' choice is 'chaos or unity'

Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Tuesday decried the latest surge in sectarian violence in Iraq and declared that for Iraqis "the choice is chaos or unity."

Five attacks rocked Baghdad on Tuesday, killing more than 40 people.

Bush spoke after an Oval Office meeting with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, shortly before was to leave for a five-day trip to India and Pakistan.

1. Guess what George - you've got several religions who've hated
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 10:52 AM by rkc3
each other for a long time, you've created instability, and given them the opportunity to exact revenge for wrongs committed in the 3rd Century. I can only guess which route they'll take.

12. At least they have a choice!
We have none.

All we have is unresolved CHAOS!

But hasn't that been the plan all along?

Create a culture/class struggle/war?

5. Remember East Pakistan, West Pakistan, and India?
It's time to divide the country into 3 or 4 or 5 or how many countries it takes. The Balkanization of the Middle East is needed. *'s buddy, United Arab Emirates, is a confederation of a bunch of states. Trying to keep these people together just ain't working.

10. Oh, so NOW they get a choice!
Seems to me they didn't get to choose to have their country invaded in the name of oil and fundamentalist religion.

But now it's all their fault?

15. 'chaos or unity'?
Funny other news reports from the Free World show that prominent religious leaders in Iraq have condemned the violence--AQ condemned it, Sadr has condemned it and pledged his troops to secure Sunni mosques, Al Sistini has condemned it and have told followers to step down...UM???

So the Team Chaos is.....!!!

18. So Bush attacks innocent people for absolutely no reason
and then blames the people for the outcome?

He launches an illegal war/invasion/occupation, kills thousands, detains who knows how many, and tortures who knows how many - and then tells those he did this to that it's up to them to make it right? That it's their "choice"...

19. "Unity" my ass. Iraq has always been an artificial country. . .
just like Yugoslavia had been. Both were held together only by a strongarm dictator, and when that person left, the tribes started pulling away from each other.
