Morrissey Quizzed by FBI
Singer MORRISSEY was quizzed by the FBI and British intelligence after speaking out against the American and British governments.

The Brit is a famous critic of the US-led war in Iraq and has dubbed President GEORGE W BUSH a "terrorist" - but he was baffled to be hauled in by authorities.

Morrissey explains, "The FBI and the Special Branch have investigated me and I've been interviewed and taped and so forth.

"They were trying to determine if I was a threat to the government, and similarly in England. But it didn't take them very long to realise that I'm not.

"I don't belong to any political groups, I don't really say anything unless I'm asked directly and I don't even demonstrate in public. I always assume that so-called authoritarian figures just assume that pop/rock music is slightly insane and an untouchable platform for the working classes to stand up and say something noticeable.

From 2004

The Mancunian singer and former frontman of The Smiths attracted criticism last summer by announcing from the stage of a concert in Ireland that he wished President George W Bush had died instead of former American president Ronald Reagan.

And now the singer, who once released the single "Bigmouth Strikes Again'' with The Smiths, has come out in favour of John Kerry, Bush's rival in the presidential race.

On his official website, Morrissey has written: "With all my heart I urge people to vote against George Bush.

"John Kerry is the logical and sane move. Bush has single-handedly turned the United States into the most neurotic and terror-obsessed country on the planet. For non-Americans the United States is suddenly not a very nice place to visit."

4. He's suspected of setting a "Hairdresser on Fire"
The FBI spokesman referred to him after the interview as a "Sweet and Tender Hooligan" who swore he would never never do it again. While he joked openly with agents about his girlfriend in a coma, he was informed that following 9/11, that joke isn't funny anymore, it being too close to home and too near the bone, too close to home and too near the bone more than you'll ever know.

Oh! It gets bettah!

14. from what I remember from my love research in HS, morrissey has
never come out as either hetero or homo sexual. He considers himself asexual. But that could be outdated information. He did write a song titled 'Girlfriend in a Coma' though.

20. Not asexual or always celibate
He was conciously celibate for awhile, during a portion of the Smiths, it was somewhat clear he wasn't celibate before this, and it's not really clear if he still is, I would say it's doubtfull. He has always been somewhat contradictory on this issue.

As far as his sexual preference
Here's some of his qoutes

"I refuse to recognize the terms hetero-, bi-, and homo-sexual. Everybody has exactly the same sexual needs. People are just sexual, the prefix is immaterial."

"I don't know anybody who is absolutely, exclusively heterosexual. It limits people's potential in so many areas. I think we should slap down these barriers."

This would seem to preclude him from being asexual, or a celibate virgin, or exclusively heterosexual.

12. Frist diagnosis Morrissey's girlfriend as "completely healthy"
Rush Limbaugh brings up the fact that there were "times when (Morrissey) could have strangled her" as evidence that he is the one who put the girlfriend in a coma...

7. I know.
I'm having mixed feelings about the challenge this week. As much as I feel the way they do, I happen to live here. But in general, I would fit in far better in Europe. I guess that's why we spend time on b3ta. It's tied with DU, for me.
