Judge weighs injunction in BlackBerry case
RICHMOND, Va. - Say what you want about patent infringement suits, but at least the BlackBerry case has drama.

A federal judge, clearly impatient with the long-running case, could issue an injunction soon on U.S. sales and service of the wireless e-mail device.

Most patent suits are dismissed or settled long before they reach this stage. Remarkably, neither BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd. nor tiny patent holder NTP Inc. have shown signs of backing down. In effect, they’re daring each other to blink first and settle.

I wish I could afford a blackberry, that would be an awesome bus toy.

1. ...You can take my BlackBerry from my cold dead hand///
When I'm stuck on the bus I often use my BB to surf websites - DU is a little to complicated for a BB, but some blog sites are fine.

2. This has farther reaching implications than you might realize
No blackberrys= walmart grinds to a halt

The people that service the registers at walmart use blackberry's to recieve the calls
if no calls are recieved-no registers get repaired

5. It's not just walmart tech people...
The state of Oklahoma tech guys also use them. A friend of mine works for them, and they gave him a blackberry. It's popular now in the tech world. And if the blackberry is gone, they'll go back to whatever system they had before that. It's not going to grind anything to a halt. Why is everyone around here so melodramatic?!

6. because that company is an extremely large company
It would take time to get all their tech's on a new system.

Walmart wouldnt be dead forever but they would take a serious hit if, tomorrow, none of the tech's blackberrys worked

7. They're talking about stopping the email service, not the cell
...phone service or text messaging.

I do know the US gov't uses blackberries extensively to receive email while 'on the go'
