Two in court on secrets charges (Bush Al-Jazeera bomb plot)

Two in court on secrets charges
24 January 2006

A civil servant and a former MP's researcher will appear at the Old Bailey on secrets charges.

David Keogh, 49, a communications officer at the Cabinet Office, and former researcher Leo O'Connor, 42, are charged under the Official Secrets Act.

Keogh is alleged to have passed a memo to O'Connor detailing the minutes of a conversation between George Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair in which the US President is reported to have discussed bombing the studios of Arab TV station Al-Jazeera in Qatar.
