BERLIN (AP) - A parliamentary inquiry into the German intelligence agency's activities during the 2003 Iraq war appeared likely Tuesday as lawmakers from the three opposition parties agreed to seek an investigation.
The parliamentary groups of the Greens, the pro-business Free Democrats and the Left Party voted by overwhelming majorities to call for a parliamentary panel.
The commission would look into exactly what two agents from the Federal Intelligence Service did in Iraq and what information they provided to U.S. forces.
The agency denied media reports last week that the spies had helped the U.S. military identify bombing targets in a war in which the government of then-Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said it wouldn't take part ...
