MADRID, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Spain has agreed to cancel most of Bolivia's $120 million debt burden in exchange for spending on education, Spanish Secretary of State for Communications Fernando Moraleda told reporters on Wednesday.

The announcement followed a meeting between Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Bolivian president-elect Evo Morales, on the first leg of a visit to Europe.

More details will be provided over the coming days, Moraleda added.

3. This is real progress, from a great Spanish Prime Minister.
You can be certain you would NEVER have heard anything remotely like this from his predecessor, Bush's obnoxious friend, P.M. Aznar. NEVER.

People like them just don't work this way.

Best wishes for Bolivia's new beginning, and its new President.

something we used to do but seemed to have forgotten apparently. an educated populace is a useful populace for research, trade, advance labor, and refined goods... as well as being the morally right thing to do. bravo espana
