Okla. Congressman Donating Abramoff Money
Let's see, wasn't there some issues with Oklahoma tribal casinos in the Abramoff case??? Hmmm ....

OKLAHOMA CITY - Republican Rep. Ernest Istook (news, bio, voting record) of Oklahoma is the latest congressman giving away campaign donations from lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who is at the center of a federal corruption investigation.

Istook, a Republican running for governor, described Abramoff as a "minor donor" to his congressional campaign.

"I was not involved in any of his dealings and I certainly have done nothing wrong," Istook told The Associated Press.

Abramoff represented Indian tribes that rolled millions of dollars in casino income into congressional campaigns over a five-year period, according to authorities. The Justice Department is investigating whether trips, gifts and campaign donations arranged by Abramoff were in exchange for official acts by Congress members and whether the tribes were defrauded.

1. I was just waiting for OK to be involved
in this mess. We have tribal gaming all over the place. I believe Istook is the one who plans on challenging our dem governor, Henry.

Did Abramoff give money to anyone else from Oklahoma? Please say yes! I'd love to get rid of all of them.

3. I was not aware that OK had a Dem govenor. Surprise!
Seems as if OK has so many corrupt reps. I class it with Texas. Way behind the times and mostly going with the fundies.Success==preaching to the ignorant. No surprise to me that one of the anointed would be a crook. This comes from an ex-okie.

The scummy congresscritters who ended up with it should not be the ones to decide which of thier children's charities should get the money.
