Al Jazeera says Iraqi police detain four employees (Democracy in Iraq?)

DUBAI, July 17 (Reuters) - The Arabic television network Al Jazeera said Iraqi police had detained four of its employees on Thursday and accused one of its correspondents of inciting violence.

Police had held the four earlier on Thursday for several hours but the judiciary refused to officially charge them and they were released, Al Jazeera said. They were later re-arrested.

The network said the arrests were due to tension between it and U.S. forces in Iraq over its coverage of attacks on U.S. soldiers.
