Bush Cites `Amazing Progress' in Building Iraqi Democracy

Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush, delivering the second in a series of speeches defining his strategy in Iraq, said Iraqis have made ``amazing progress'' toward establishing a democracy and rebuilding their economy.

Likening the Sept. 11 attacks to the Japanese strike on Pearl Harbor 64 years ago today that brought the U.S. fully into World War II, Bush said the U.S. is ready to confront the terrorists ``on many fronts,'' including Iraq.

``We will fight this war without wavering,'' Bush told about 300 members of the Council on Foreign Relations today in Washington. ``We also have to win the battle after the battle by helping Iraqis consolidate their gains.''

The president, facing declining support from the public for the war and increasing questions from members of Congress about his plans, is giving a series of addresses leading up to the Dec. 15 elections in Iraq which he says will define the conditions for success in the country.

1. He's making the old 9/11 - Iraq connection again?

4. "We will fight this war without wavering"
The part that pisses me off is the "We." The CON administration aka Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc., and the Duke Cunningham's, Tom DeLay's, are so damn busy lining their pockets with our Treasury Funds that the second their time in office has expired, they will simply go back to their mansions on the hill and count the blood money that our troops, the Iraqi peoples, have died brought them.

There ain't no "WE," in this illegal war. As usual the CON is only in it for the ME.
