(Air Force) Officer To Plead Innocent To Anti-Bush Graffiti
http://cbs4denver.com/local/local_story_340133012.html

An Air Force officer accused of vandalizing cars with anti-Bush graffiti will plead not guilty, his attorney said Tuesday after talks with prosecutors failed to produce a plea agreement.

Lt. Col. Alexis Fecteau is accused of blacking out bumper stickers supporting President Bush on cars at Denver International Airport and then spray-painting an expletive over them.

Defense attorney Patrick Mulligan did not rule out a plea bargain but said prosecutors have prepared additional charges against Fecteau, complicating the discussions.

Fecteau was director of operations for reserve forces at the National Security Space Institute at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, supervising 11 full-time and 30 part-time reservists. He was reassigned to a non-supervisory position after the charges were filed.

3. You're allowed to plead innocent??
Why can't journalists do their frickin' job and report the proper facts.

There are TWO options. Guilty and Not Guilty. There is no Innocent, and there never has been.

8. not true
in the world of journalism, there ARE two options. Guilty and Innocent. Its called AP Style and thats the rulebook radio, tv and print go by. Its awkward to hear about someone "pleading innocent", but thats just the way they decided to do it.

4. Criminal mischief! How terrifying!
They'd better hustle him off to Guantanamo for a little of that not-exactly-the-worst-if-it-doesn't-dulplicate-organ-failure-torture!

Too bad there aren't any judges who will laugh in the faces of prosecutors. This case cries out for it.

the potential conspiracy behind this heinous act of self-expression, I mean, terrorism, and throw the poor slob into jail indefinitely, possibly overseas, and possibly torture him. So it is written in the law books of the "Land of the Free" at this very moment.

7. vandalism bad, sentiment good
but maybe this is his way of getting out of the "retread" race... they won't send him back to Iraq several times, because he "isn't moral enough to kill women and children" (with apologies to Arlo Guthrie)
