White House: Gas prices still too high
Adviser Hubbard says pump prices too much despite declines, Bush worried about natural gas prices.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - One of President Bush's top economic advisers said Friday that gasoline prices are still too high, even though they have fallen from record highs earlier this year.

"Despite the fact that gasoline prices have obviously fallen dramatically from where they peaked after (Hurricane) Katrina, they are still too high," economic adviser Al Hubbard said Friday. "He (Bush) is especially concerned about natural gas prices and the impact they're going to have on people's budgets this winter."

1. Translation:
"He (Bush) is especially concerned about natural gas prices and the impact they're going to have on people's budgets this winter."

really means:

"He (boosh) is especially concerned about how natural gas prices and the impact they will have on people's budgets this winter will affect his ratings."

Asshole. He doesn't give a crap about anyone but himself & his rich friends.

7. I'm three feet eight inches high, my name is Bob.
Dad, on the day he died, said "Bob up and kiss my ass" and that was the day I grew up.
I now see through junior.
Dad died in September of this year.

4. meanwhile his Big Oil cronies
keep (a) lying about their meetings with the gov't, (2) admitting they don't need the extra profits they are gouging us on now, and (3) saying "HELL NO" when asked if they would give up those extra gouging profits.

Santa Butch is just tryin' to make Joe Sixpack feel better about overspending at Mal-Wart for the holidaze, with a little less current pain at the pump.

5. So will Bush pressure Congress for a windfall profits tax?
Or will he open up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Or actually do something other than his favorite method of dealing with anything: Spout some high-minded rhetoric then forget all about it before the echo of his insipid voice has died out?

11. You shouldn't have let the oil industry write national energy policy then
IF you REALLY believe that the prices are too high. Or do you feel that your oil industry buddies have made enough hyper-inflated profits to tide them through the next decade or so?
...I thought so.

14. Gas prices just jumped 25 cents today
From $1.92 to $2.17 here in the Twin Cities, MN. Wait until this summer when $3.50/gal hits and these will seem like the golden days.

17. What does ANYONE in the White House know about "too high"
don't patronize my intelligence. You simply could care less, it's all lip service in response to fledgling poll numbers.

18. Since everything they say is backwards, Gas is not high enough.
Notice how gas went down when the senate announced it may bring them under investigation because of the billions in profits.

21. Attention all Arab members of OPEC!
Standby for some jawboning. :sarcasm:

He is only concerned about two things; the have-mores with their bottomlines and his polling numbers.

He must be thrilled that Artic ice is melting faster than anticipated, just more opportunities to drill for oil. Grrr
