Arkansas Governor Joins In Call To Boycott Aruba
http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/5439274/detail.html

Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is joining Alabama Gov. Bob Riley in requesting that Arkansans consider a travel boycott of Aruba to show respect for the family of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.

Huckabee noted that the girl's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, is originally from Arkansas and that many of the missing teen's other relatives still live in the state.

Holloway's father, Dave Holloway, is also an Arkansas native who now lives in Meridian, Miss. A grandmother lives in Pine Bluff, Ark., and an aunt in El Dorado, Ark.

Riley called for a nationwide travel boycott to the island and sent letters to his fellow governors urging them to support his decision. He blames the Aruban government for what he calls "missteps, miscommunication and inconsistencies" plaguing the investigation.

2. What a great Idea!!!!!
I'll join the boycott, because I'm sure there has never been an unsolved homicide in Alabama!!!!!

:sarcasm:

Good thing he has nothing better to worry about.

3. Oh, give me a break
I feel bad for Holloway's family, but this is ridiculous.

"punishing" an enire country for the actions of one or two people is not Christian, either.

5. How many working class Arkansans can afford to vacation in Aruba?
More drivel about a missing rich blonde in Aruba. Is it the fact she may have had intercourse with two men of color that is driving the anger?

Let's face it, had her disappearance had taken place in the US, the cops wouldn't have one shred of evidence to arrest, much less hold, any of the 3 young men being hounded by Holloway's family.

9. Has a single piece of evidence been found that may point to
this girl having been murdered? I admit not keeping track of the events on the Holloway case yet it seems that there is not a single tiny piece of evidence that ties anyone of the men to a crime. No crime scene. No body. Not a hair or piece of skin. No evidence or indication of foul play. Fibers, blood, or anything for that matter. And it seems to me if one of these guys would have turned by now.

I kind of recall reading an article somewhere, can't remember the source, but the article speculated that this girl was not likely murdered but abducted and is now a victim of human trafficking. Quite simply a young, attractive, blond American alone for a while in a foreign country could likely have been a tempting target for such an abduction. Like I said, it was a while ago that I read the article and I can't remember the source but given that there seems to be no sign of this poor girl anywhere, the theory, at least on its face, could be viable. Does anyone else think this could be a possibility?

12. Your theory
Personally, I hope that theory is incorrect. If true, she'd surely rather be dead.

13. I would hope so too!
And you're likely correct that she would rather be dead. But consider this, with all the coverage and attention that this case is getting media wise, has a single commentator floated this as a possibility in the media? I admitted that I wasn't following the case, so maybe someone has floated the theory. And if they haven't, why not? I tend to think that with infotainment being the way it is these days it is less depressing to think the girl maybe dead vs. being in some foreign land being subjected to only God-knows-what.
