Former Texas justice mulls Democratic gubernatorial bid
Bob Gammage of Llano calls existing campaign sleepy

Llano lawyer Bob Gammage, a former Texas Supreme Court justice and U.S. House member, says he might enter what he sees as a sleepy two-man race for the Democratic gubernatorial nod in 2006.

Gammage, 67, a mediation attorney whose consideration surfaced this week on blogs, including the Democrat-oriented Burnt Orange Report, said he's weighing whether he can raise enough money to run a campaign and whether his candidacy would attract grass-roots support.

2. I know him
He's a salty old Dem with a strong base in the way the party used to be before the DLC. He could shake things up in this state, that's for sure.

He has the kind of appeal that would reach the rural voters (he currently rooted in a small town) and experience that many voters would find appealing.

He's been kicking this around for awhile and I guess he's all but decided to do it. Good for him!
