Sheehan plans to resume war protest near Bush ranch next week

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - President Bush plans to spend Thanksgiving at his ranch in Crawford, Texas -- and Cindy Sheehan will be there, too.

Sheehan and about a dozen supporters plan to return to their old campsite near the president's ranch.

Sheehan has been protesting the war in Iraq since her 24-year-old son was killed there last year. She spent 26 days in August camped near the president's ranch, demanding a meeting.

There was no meeting but Sheehan drew thousands of supporters, prompting McLennan County officials to impose new limits on roadside camping. Sheehan and her supporters say they're prepared to be arrested.

She is the bug in his ear reminding him of the failure he's been his entire life.

2. And I suppose he'll complain it's ruining his vacation
Never mind that Cindy's Thanksgivings will be ruined forever.

Heck, I may set a place for Casey Sheehan at my Thanksgiving table (he can represent all of those we've lost.)

Let's all do that.

She has shown us how powerful non-violent protest can be.

He provided the property for the big Camp Casey tent so they could protest Nero legally and without much harassment.

9. WOO HOO! I was hoping she would be there!
:woohoo: GO CINDY!!!

I was wondering about this very thing this morning when I read that * plans to spend some time in Crawford during the holiday season.

* doesn't deserve "Happy Holidays" given how he's needlessly taken them away from so many families. :grr:

11. Watch for the broadcast media make Bush** look like a victim. If she
uses the theme that points to nearly 2100 families with an empty chair, then she can avoid the rpigs making Bush** the victim on the holiday.

16. God i wish bush would heed her advice. I wish also Dems would do the same
Cindy does not call for troop withdrawal only when the United States successfully establishes "stability" in Iraq, because she knows all too well that the United States is the main cause of instability in Iraq.

Listen you Democratic Reps and Senators. This is a winning strategy. This is a moral strategy.
Call for the troops out now! No more lame plans to get us out in a few years. Home for the holidays!

21. Well yes, she kind of does
"When we say now, we don't mean that they can all come home tomorrow. I hope everybody knows that. We have to start by withdrawing our troops from the cities, bringing them to the borders and getting them out. We have to replace our military with something that looks Arabic, something that looks Iraqi, to rebuild their country."

This was on Sept 29.

25. A brave one-woman replacement for the Democratic Party.
Pay attention, Hillary, Kerry, Edwards, et al: Sheehan is a real leader.

And like her, I will not be voting for anyone who supported this war. Out with the lot of you.

26. 'Peace Mom' Plans to Resume War Protest
CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - The fallen soldier's mother who drew thousands to her 26-day war protest near President Bush's ranch this summer plans to return for Thanksgiving next week, despite new county ordinances banning roadside camping.

Cindy Sheehan and at least a dozen supporters are prepared to be arrested as they return to the makeshift campsite along the road leading to Bush's ranch, where he is expected to spend the holiday.

"It is critical for our democracy that we continue to ask the same questions that Cindy Sheehan asked this summer: What is the noble cause for the war with Iraq, and at what point do we say enough bloodshed has happened?" said Hadi Jawad, co-founder of the Crawford Peace House.
