If I'm reading the data correctly, the Democratic slate (Dover CARES) which has been supporting the teachning of evolution, is leading for all seats

5. Dover CARES sweeps school dir. seats (Dover, PA evolution fight)
Dover CARES candidates swept eight seats available on the Dover Area School Board in tonight's election, according to unofficial vote totals from the York County elections office.
Sixteen candidates sought the eight seats and were split into two camps, based largely on the issue of intelligent design.

Dover CARES candidates think that if intelligent design is referenced, it should be in an elective course, such as comparative religion.

The incumbent school board members who were ousted in Tuesday's election favor mentioning intelligent design in biology classes.

DOVER, Pa. (AP) - Voters came down hard Tuesday on school board members
who backed a statement on intelligent design being read in biology
class, ousting eight Republicans and replacing them with Democrats who
want the concept stripped from the science curriculum.

Voters take stand against "intelligent design" policy

DOVER, Pa. (AP) — Voters have decided to replace nearly the entire school board with a slate that called for removing "intelligent design" from Dover's high school science curriculum, after the new policy landed the district in federal court.

Eight of nine school board members were up for election on Tuesday, and all eight were voted out in a showdown over how evolution is to be taught and the cost of the district's policy on intelligent design.

22. Why would you deny that?
The eight anti-creationist Dover CARES candidates all stood as dems, and all eight won. The defeated creationists are repubs. So, tell us again why this has nothing to do with dems, or, by implication, repubs?

25. Yes, but it will be harder for the Taliborn-agains next time...
The only way they got in power in the FIRST place is because Average Joe doesn't pay anymore attention to the school board election than he does who's running for Dogcathcer.

24. There were other reasons....
Some voters indicated Tuesday that their decision to vote against the incumbents, who backed the current policy, was as much about the cost of the litigation as the debate over evolution.

(By the way, all 8 incumbents who were defeated were Republicans, and all 8 new members are Democrats.)

Dover voters reject 'intelligent design' board
Voters dump incumbents over intelligent design
November 09, 2005

"While a federal judge weighs the evidence in Kitzmiller et al v. Dover Area School District, voters in the district chose their sides yesterday in a debate about the teaching of intelligent design in their high school...All eight incumbents were defeated by eight challengers one year after a policy change by the Dover school board included a statement about intelligent design in its science classes...

Residents of the small school district -- about 20,000 in the borough, Dover and Washington townships -- found themselves in the spotlight as journalists interviewed them on their porches for stories that went around the world."

31. Bipartisan school board
Actually, it was a mixture of Democrats and Republicans who ran on the Democrat's ticket. The amazing thing is that Dover is highly Republican, as is almost all of York County.

28. There is a God.
And, being an intelligent God, He knows that instruction in "intelligent design" belongs in comparative religion classes, and not biology classes, and has guided Dover voters accordingly.
