Ken Salazar not likely to back filibuster

Colorado's Democratic senator backed away from a partisan showdown over Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito on Thursday, while the state's GOP senator unleashed a tough broadside in a possible filibuster fight.

U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, D-Colo., is still on the fence about President Bush's latest nominee, though he has said he is disappointed by the choice. Nevertheless, his spokesman downplayed the likelihood the senator would endorse Democratic delaying tactics.

"Sen. Salazar has never participated in a filibuster, and he doesn't foresee a situation where he would," Wertz said.

1. There's plenty of time and there are other avenues to kill this if the
Democrats really want to.

3. Well then it's plain and simple...
If Ken Salazar does not support the filibuster of Alito then Ken Salazar must go, just like that.
