Australia warns of terror threat

Australia has received specific information this week about a possible
terrorist threat to the country, Prime Minister John Howard has said.

Mr Howard said he could give no further details for operational reasons.

He said the Senate would be recalled to pass an amendment to existing
anti-terror laws, relating to the description of a particular action.

Mr Howard's government hopes to introduce tough new counter-terrorism
legislation by Christmas.

Looks like a gimmick for Howard to get more power for himself.

2. It probably has something to do with the fact that he is pushing some

legislation through parliament.
He seems to like the way Gitmo works and wants to make it possible here.
I can't believe I am living in an Orwellian nightmare.
Especially after we thought we had this democracy thing all working.
