ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- Iran Saturday thanked Pakistan for supporting the former's controversial nuclear ambitions, ostensibly meant for peaceful purposes. Iran, in a reciprocal gesture, announced a financial assistance of USD 200 million for thousands of quake-stricken victims.
Iranian Vice President, Ali Saeed Lu, during his day-long visit to quake-stricken Pakistan, called on President General Pervez Musharraf to condole over the colossal loss of life and property.
Later he told newsmen that Iran was thankful to Pakistan for supporting Iranian right of peaceful use of nuclear technology during the SCO conference in Moscow.
He said that he had suggested to President Musharraf that Pakistan could participate in peaceful nuclear activities in Iran.
