Bomb Misses U.S. Troops, Kills Young Child
BAGHDAD, Iraq -- A 7-year-old boy is the latest victim of violence in Iraq. He was killed by a roadside bomb that exploded near a U.S. military convoy in Baghdad. The bomb missed the soldiers but killed the boy, who was selling cans of black-market gasoline on a street.

Officials said nine other civilians were injured, including a 10-year-old girl.

1. He's my daughter's age
And he's supporting himself by selling gas in a country that produces oil as its main export. Could this situation be any more effed?

2. Usually they can get oil out
But, you need refineries and a distribution system which are two things sorely lacking.

No matter how bad things are, there's one thing that's for certain:

They can *ALWAYS* get worse. :-(

3. The only time children or civilians are reported killed without...
adding "claimed" in the story is when the bombing was allegedly done by non-US forces.

When children or civilians are allegedly killed by US bombs the story will always make it look like the Iraqis are lying by adding "claimed."
