U.S. tells Israel: Leave Syria to Washington

By Yoav Stern, Aluf Benn and Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondents, News Agencies and Haaretz Service

The United States has asked Israel to keep out of efforts to bring pressure to bear on Syria, and to leave things to Washington's devices.

Messages in this vein have been repeated recently on a number of occasions, with U.S. officials asking Israel to stay out of things whenever their Israeli counterparts have raised the situation in Syria during talks.

Government sources said Saturday that they had no knowledge of a so-called "Gadhafi package deal" that the Americans had offered Syria to bring it in from the international cold, as reported in the London Times newspaper

4. We'll call you when we need your military
You may be confused by the power of the PNAC, but the United States runs you; you don't run the United States. (pause for muffled laughter...)

We'll gin up the excuse to invade and destroy Syria, you just keep the IDF on a hair trigger and shut the fuck up.

These are exciting times for warlords looking to settle old scores.

5. Re: no deals in the works
