Iran denies Blair charge of Iraq meddling

Associated Press

TEHRAN, Iran - Iran rejected Friday the accusations by British Prime Minister Tony Blair that it was supplying Iraqi insurgents with bombs that have killed British troops.

"Iran has no motive for intervening in the domestic affairs of Iraq," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said in a statement read on state television.

"The accusations are baseless. Blair is accusing others to cover up Britain's failure to provide security in Iraq," Asefi added.

Blair had accused Iran on Thursay of interfering in Iraq, saying that new explosive devices used "not just against British troops but elsewhere in Iraq ... lead us either to Iranian elements or to Hezbollah," the Iranian-backed militant group in Lebanon.

1. Why would Iran use violence...
When they are getting power in Iraq through the democratic process?

It doesn't make sense.

2. Yeah, this would make sense if he said Iran is helping.
If I was Iran I'd help pay for the war so we'd stay there longer.
Iran should bow down and kiss Bush's ass for making them easily
the dominant power in their neighborhood. Bush gutted and hung
to bleed Iran's worst enemy and then turned the country over to
the most pro-Iran segments of the population.
