U.S. Senate intelligence leaders at odds on Iraq
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N24238057.htm

WASHINGTON, Oct 24 (Reuters) - The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee said on Friday the Republican chairman was trying to lay all the blame for flaws in pre-war intelligence about Iraq solely on the doorstep of U.S. spy agencies without looking at any White House role.

The push by the senior Democrat, Sen. John Rockefeller of West Virginia, for a broader inquiry has been rebuffed by the Republican chairman, Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas.

"It is my belief ... that what he wants to do is to put all of this, lay all of this off on the intelligence community and never get to any other branches of government, in particular the White House and associated high and visible government agencies," Rockefeller told reporters.

Pre-war intelligence on Iraq has become a highly charged political issue leading up to next year's presidential elections, with Democrats trying to paint the Republican White House as possibly distorting intelligence in its eagerness to gather support for the war against Iraq.

What's with these Senators from West Virginia? Robert Byrd is from there too.

& he's a Rockefeller (even if liberal, he's still a Rockefeller) Wonder what's going on behind the scenes with the moneyed elite.

4. some of the time
I know. It's just that the love of money does seem to corrupt.
I've got a whole list of those with money who have principles, (Kerry and his wife Heinz; Howard Dean (Witter); Rockefeller; Ted Kennedy, Soros) that wasn't exactly what I was trying to get at. I was thinking more along the lines of the question regarding the CIA's doing battle with Bush and a fracturing of the moneyed elite that seems to be occurring.

I do NOT know what financial firm Howard Dean's family owned though.

6. Notice that they ignore any implication of Israel over the Niger intel
You have to ask yourself, why there isn't more interest in identifying the "source" of the false information about Niger? If it had been any other ally of the US, especially France or Germany, what was learned about the source of this bad intel would be platered all over the news, especially FOX. Notice no one is even pushing to even find out the source of the information which, to me, means they already know who the source is and are too embarrassed or too frightened to say.
