OCTOBER 3, 2005 - CBC AND CMG REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
The CBC and the Canadian Media Guild have reached a tentative agreement that, if ratified, will end the current lockout of CMG-represented staff at the Corporation.

These last seven weeks have been very difficult for everyone throughout the Corporation, and we will work hard to overcome the challenges that this labour dispute has presented for us – our future as an organization depends on it. We look forward to seeing everyone back at work, doing what they do best: creating and broadcasting exceptional television, radio and online programming for Canadians across the country.

Building on the many successes of CBC Radio, CBC Television and cbc.ca last season, we will be launching a wide array of new programs and content on all our services in the days and weeks to come. Our successes, past and future, are due to the dedication, talent and creativity of everyone who works here – and we are delighted, and more than a little relieved, to welcome all of you back We will provide you with details about returning to work once we have an agreed upon protocol with the CMG.

1. You really like Mansbridge? Secretly, I do too
It's not chic in some circles to admit that.

7. Well its about time!
I've been missing CBC too, although I've been enjoying a nice little college world music AM station that has BBC newscasts.
