2. Oh, yes they are. From the article:
DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Qaeda has kidnapped two Marines in western Iraq and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to U.S. forces to release female Sunni Muslim prisoners, a statement posted on a Web site said on Sunday.

"Al Qaeda soldiers succeeded in kidnapping two Marines ... and Al Qaeda is giving the infidels 24 hours to release female Sunni Muslim prisoners ... or they (Western forces) should not bother to look for their children," the statement said on a Web site generally used by the group.

7. Interestingly Reuters calls al Queda a "Sunni Muslim group"
"The Sunni Muslim group has often abducted and killed officials and soldiers."

WTF?

10. Good catch, I didn't notice that. It's pure BS.
Al Queda is not a Sunni Muslim group. I guess anybody who wants their women to stop being tortured and raped is now a de facto member of Al Queda. :eyes:

The majority of Muslims are Sunni. That DOES NOT MEAN that most Sunnis are al Queda though

25. Nobody said they are.
What was said was that most "Al Qaeda" types are Sunnis. Don't get paranoid.

why... again?

And lest ye forget, al CIAda is a pretty much fabricated 'organization' that has no reason to be in iraq.

22. I disagree with you, but nevertheless respect your views
The main reason we will not be successful in Iraq, other than it is an immoral war, is because the civil war that will errupt

I would be extremely surprised to see the Sunni and the Shiite unite. Their religious difference are quite strong in their mind. However, they will unite against us. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but only temporarily

35. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Iranian Farsi speaking types
of Muslims are Shiites and the Arabic speaking Muslims to the East of Iraq are the majority Sunnis.

With Iraq in the middle and having a population with a mix of the two.

29. Fighting isn't limited to men.
I strongly disagree with how the U.S. conducts prisoner operations, but I would be naive to say that only men commit acts of war against the U.S., or crimes against other Iraqis.

come back in Karma de Torquemada to our sons and daughters.

Pray we are not about to reap the consequences of the torture seeds Bush and his Oil Crony Republicans have sown so widely in the Mideast and Gitmo.

If we could just keep those darned photos secret, we could torture these heathens to our god-filled hearts' content!

5. We Don't Negotiate For Hostages
Isn't that Shrub's motto? If they won't do it for ordinary American citizens that are captured, why should they for Marines?

Saying that....I'm sure they'll try and kiss up or else cover this up, because it would obviously not look too favorable if the U.S. non-media were to actually report a story about the beheading of 2 soldiers.

I wish he were over there to show us how it is "Quaint."

28. As an ex military
I remember the POW rules by the Conventions referring to POWs.

Name service number and rank as spelled out on ones dog tags is an effort to protect the well being of those of both parties captured in battle (Or otherwise)and is the only information required to be given to the captors.

Gonzales destroyed that trust as did Bush* and his ilk.

And now we are paying for it.

40. I know how you feel.
My son is going to Qatar in November and will be organizing a humanitarian mission that will serve Afganistan and Iraq. They will be delivering medical supplies, other needed equipment and specialists to the troops.

My heart will be in my throat the whole time.

Keep the faith because you're not alone.
