Before Gulf War #1...
...I saw a report on CNN that featured a sargeant telling his troops exactly that. He said we knew Hussein had mines made in the US of A because we had the frickin' receipts!! Reagan/Bush sold them to their former "pal".

8. Doesn't matter..They aren't WMD !
And IF they were, it sure as Hell isn't 500 TONS of VX and Sarin gas now isn't it?
When are the reporters from Fox realize they abetted the murder of tens of thousands of innocent civilians and the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers?

Iraq can have tens of thousands of those, they are for "homeland"defense.

But Hannity will be having a circle jerk over this news.

11. Don't get me wrong, I'm with you guys, but
these are the kind of weapons killing US soldiers. That's why it's reported as important.

16. I should have said, that's why the story SHOULD be seen as important.
Edited on Thu Oct-23-03 07:45 PM by skip fox
I ain't responsible for Fox's bait-and-switch, but a cache of that size WILL be reported by others and for the correct reason: that these are the weapons used to kill our troops.

I wish we weren't there like most everyone else here, but I certainly don't want more US soldiers (OR Iraqis) killed.

http://216.87.159.49/news/default.asp?mode=shownews&id=3344:

A general in Saddam Hussein`s army was captured today by US soldiers from Fort
Hood`s 4th Infantry Division. Troops also captured ten other suspected "Saddam"
followers in a raid near Hussein`s hometown of Tikrit. Soldiers also uncovered a
weapons cache buried in a farming community. Military officials say six of the men
taken into custody are believed to be involved in guerilla attacks against US troops.
The other four were captured because of the weapons stash.

Just because the likes of Hannity will misuse this information, doesn't mean we can't see it for what it is.

Edited on Thu Oct-23-03 07:06 PM by DemsUnite
An equal amount of weapons has been arranged to replaced this "major" cache. This "report" is red meat for the ditto-monkeys. Nothing more.

(on edit: typo)

17. This is a pissant stash of weapons.
There are warlords all over that part of the world who misplace more weapons than this. It is interesting though that the Bush propagandists can't come up with anything better than this.
