First Iraq poll delivers mixed results
E Politix

--- The first independent survey since British and US forces toppled Saddam Hussein's regime found 43 per cent believed their lives would be better in a year's time.
Half thought Britain and the US had been right to go to war in Iraq but there was also less positive news for Downing Street.

Three quarters of those questioned told researchers that the city is more dangerous than when Saddam's regime was in control.

It also revealed that the coalition has a long way to go to win over hearts and minds as 47 per cent thought the war was fought to gain control of the country's oil supplies.

And 41 per cent believed their country had been invaded to help Israel - with just 23 per cent accepting it was to end dictatorship. ---

2. Hard to put much faith in this
It's hard for me to put much faith in an Iraqi poll right now. Most of the respondents probably thought it was some sort of trap by the U.S. and British authorities.

4. Yeah I love that
Over 50% think oil and Israel are the reason, yet the same number think it was justified?

Whatever. :wtf:

Just FWIW, this was jointly done by The Spectator (a right wing rag in England).
