BOURNE - As they settled into their new home at Camp Edwards less than 24 hours after many were rescued from New Orleans, 209 evacuees wept tears of joy and despair.

But seven of those evacuees, whose criminal pasts in Louisiana would qualify them as registered sex offenders in Massachusetts, received a ruder welcome.

The seven males, none of whom was identified by name, were segregated from the families and children who arrived at Camp Edwards. ...

(Plan B we just didn't know what it would be)

Glad the offenders are contained and kept away from others.

5. According to local Boston Radio station,
all arrivals on the Cape were sent there with no idea where their final destination would be. They were not asked if they wanted to come to Massachusetts and were not told of their final destination. Free country, Huh?

6. Mass is a liberal state with laws to protect non-rich - it was unfair to
drop these folks into such an environment rather let them choose a "commpassionate conservative" state that would not care less about one more sex offender coming in - hell they would just see it as one more GOP voter.

8. Those scarey evacuees. Sheesh, we have 7 registered sex offenders
living within a mile of our small town's elementary school.

9. How many registered sex offenders have been sent to red states?
I'd be willing to bet the answer is 0.

10. Well, put them in a little boat and anchor them in Ophelia's path...
Now, in Florida, they would have been blown away pounding on the shelter door....
:-(
