2. Is the news the part about him having a heart?
That is shocking.

Although it would be more shocking if they found his soul.

6. Sky News: PM Suffered 'Irregular Heartbeat'
PM SUFFERED 'IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT'

Prime Minister Tony Blair was admitted to hospital for chest pains, Downing Street has confirmed.

Sources say he had been suffering "irregular heartbeats" and had been feeling under the weather.

But he returned home after being treated, said Downing Street.

Mr Blair, 50, was taken to Hammersmith hospital in west London after complaining of chest pains while at Downing Street.

But his spokesman insisted he was feeling "fine" and had returned to Number 10.

8. Oh, what are they worried about? This is totally normal!
Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 02:30 PM by E_Zapata
I remember a few years back when I was in a position of authority -- placed there by the people, btw -- and I was offered this irresistable deal (we be talking M-O-N-E-Y and P-O-W-E-R!) to engage those I led in this illegal war. And it was a hard sell to the people who might have burned the government chambers to the ground in their resistance, had I not come up with some really colorful things to say about why we should all get behind this new war product. Okay, okay, so I lied a bit. And had to strongarm a few in my cabinet. But for the most part, I got things rolling.

And, well, 10s of 1000s were killed in the first few months. (We be talking lots of blood and pain and suffering). And 8 years later, man, that one little itty bitty illegal invasion has served as an ember of unending war. I don't see an end to it, to be honest. Which is good, because in my new job (since I had to get out of that elected position. Okay, so the people threw me out!), at this big company called Carlyle (Hi John Majors!), I am making a mint. I live here on this island in isolation but I have all the amenities any shunned person could ever ask for. (I just can't get the blood off my hands - maybe some day).

And, well, I too had an irregular heart beat for a bit -- before I figured out how to get out of the limelight. The entire world was P.O.'d at me, and it just really taxed my nervous system.

I was lucky because -- like a stroke of luck -- there was suddenly a whole bunch of these little blue pills available on the streets -- oxy... oxycon..something like that. I just pop a handful of those everyday, stay away from the news, collect my checks from Carlyle, and, well, the heart is fine - just fine. Nothing to worry about.

So, Tony - not to worry. This is perfectly absolutely normal. Hang Tuff, dude! (But I should warn you, don't expect your wife to ever get all snuggled up with you again. Our women folk just hate this shit. Consider that just collateral damage, dude)

Oh, and don't worry - your really won't miss not being the president of the EU. Consider it a blessing that you didn't have to work with all those froggies!

Edited on Sun Oct-19-03 02:36 PM by Dead_Parrot
After suffering pangs of guilt, Bliar went to Hammersmith hospital to have his heart removed, along with the final sheds of his cancer-ridden soul. He's now back at Downing Street, and continuing the plans to destroy the Syrians for having the wrong skin colour.

11. If he dies, I swear, the first thing I'm going to assume is that he was...
...assasssinated.

What has he done lately? The CIA planned to blame Tony for the uranium claim, but he's still standing, still liberalizing the economy. Yesterday, he told Bush he couldn't have his photo op with the queen (whose parents and uncle were nazi sympathizers) on the mall. He also foiled a plot to assassinate Putin.

32. Don't worry AP
Blair is apparently taking meetings at Downing Street already. It's not an unusual condition either. Apparently neither it is life threatening if treated, just a bloody nusance for Blair.

Mind you,if I were Blair I would take time off out and relax out of common sense.

17. My guess, as well...
I still believe Blair to be a man of conscience, intellect, and enormous gifts. Why he made his Faustian deal mystifies me, but the strain must be taking its toll. Sky News now speculating that Bush's scheduled visit is an added stressor --

21. Update: bad news about Blair's condition ...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/3205888.stm

According to the BBC:

"The hospital says this is a relatively common condition and is easily treated.

"He has suffered no damage and he is fine. There is no reason why this should reoccur. They have advised him to rest for 24 hours."

It looks like it's not serious.

23. Tony should ring up the Queen
And ask her if she has a spare food taster hanging around the palace. Considering his present bidness partners, precautions should be taken. No telling what's in that Texas Barbecue that Shrubbie sent him as a measure of their friendship.

and barely anyone has read my thread. Tony has the Queen and bushistas pissed at him right now.

Here's the thread

Also, Blair had a cardioversion done which is usually done for sustained V-tach or V-fib. This is no biggy, but cardioversions are usually scheduled in advance and patients are on blood thinners for usually a week before to prevent clots from dislodging.

Blair had this done on an emergency basis. He has been looking like shit for a long time.

29. Maybe it was atrial fibrilation
Can be scary but is usually easily treated, sometimes by drugs, sometimes by cardioversion or even surgery. Can be caused from such things as an overactive thyroid, infection, hypoglycemia, allergic reaction, caffeine, nicotine, binge drinking and stress. My ex had it happen to him and it was most definitely caused by booze and stress.
