Harper lashes out at handling of same-sex marriage laws

Canadian Press

Alliance Leader Stephen Harper lashed out at the Liberal government's handling of same-sex marriage laws at a fundraiser Tuesday evening.

"(Same-sex marriage) is a decision to be made by Parliament, not by the judges they appoint," Mr. Harper told over 400 supporters in Red Deer.

He argued that such a union concerns social values, not human rights, and accused the government of abandoning its obligation to introduce legislation on the controversial issue.

1. Harper & his party are a JOKE...They are lucky if they garner 12% support
from the Canadian public....Don't worry what Stephen Harper thinks...Who cares!...He or his party will NEVER govern Canada...We're just not a right wing country!!

2. I long for Stockwell Day
As an American that is :-) He was a constant supply of comedy from Canada that I sorely missed since the cancelation of the Kids in the Hall :-)

3. I agree
Pollsters are saying that Harper's bunch, the CA, has flatlined in the polls.

4. They're toast in the East
We're running up to provincial election here in Nova Scotia, and this time around, the CA isn't even on the ballot! Last election (1999) they had candidates in most ridings (districts), but they're nowhere to be found.

This I like--now we just need to mallet this pious,pussel-gutted, union-busting, Dubya-wannabe Tory government out of the park. Go NDP!!!
