Iran's nuclear decision 'irreversible' - Rafsanjani

TEHRAN (AFX) - Iran's decision to resume uranium conversion is 'irreversible' despite a resolution by the UN nuclear watchdog calling on Iran to halt sensitive nuclear fuel cycle work, a top regime figure said today.

'Bear in mind that you cannot treat Iran like Iraq or Libya,' Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the influential former president said in a weekly Friday sermon.

'You could drag things on but Iran's decision is irreversible,' he said, drawing chants of 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel' from the worshippers.

Rafsanjani's remarks came a day after the International Atomic Energy Agency's 35-nation board of governors adopted a resolution expressing 'serious concern' at Tehran's decision to resume uranium conversion activities.

1. The perfect storm coming down the road
With the world's most incompetent leader having to deal with it.
The bombing campaign of Iran has been put back since June - it's only a matter of weeks or months now.

2. 'Bear in mind that you cannot treat Iran like Iraq or Libya,"
Exactly, that's why Mr. Cheney is going to give them special treatment, the nuclear one.

Here comes the War, if you want to call it that, more of a genocide, really. We might just cause the end of the World!

4. Chants of "Death to America" are unnecessary.

We have destroyed ourselves. The only thing unclear is when the death rattle will be and what the final spasms will cost the world.

5. Hmm... I perceived Rafsanjani as the squishy figure in Iran.
I thought he would surely capitulate to the US if elected. That perception, widely held, is a major reason for his loss for the presidency. But it seems the elite in Iran is united in opposition to the US war moves.
