(British) Soldier shot in Iraq (wounded)

A British soldier has been shot and wounded in the first sniper attack on UK forces occupying the south of Iraq since the end of the war, the British Ministry of Defence confirmed today.

The man is being treated for gun-shot wounds to a leg in a British Army field hospital in Iraq and is said to be in a “stable” condition. ---

1. He is lucky that the sniper missed!
Other sniper victims were less fortunate.

The troubling thing for the Brits is that the attack took place in Basra, a Shia stronghold. This could be additional evidence that the Brits have over stayed their welcome.

Bring the troops home now, Tony!

3. I think the key word there is 'sniper'.
It's the first Limie shot by a sniper.

4. Would prefer the word Brit as opposed to "Limie"
even if I want to post a deragatory comment regarding US forces I still don't refer to them as Yanks etc, please be a bit more understanding, I am feeling a tad bit tender at the moment and am likely to blow soon.

Will post reasons why in the lounge tonight or possibly tomorrow !
