World reacts angrily (Tancredo's threats against Muslim holy sites)
By M.E. Sprengelmeyer
Rocky Mountain News
WASHINGTON - From Turkey, from Russia and from the desk of Howard Dean - angry reaction to Rep. Tom Tancredo's threat against Muslim holy sites came from around the world Tuesday. In Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul blasted Tancredo's comments suggesting the United States could "take out" holy sites, including Mecca, if Islamic terrorists detonated nuclear bombs in U.S. cities.

"This was nothing but a fanatic speaking completely personally, irresponsibly and without thought of how far his statements would reach or what kind of problems they would create," Gul said, according to an Anatolia news agency report quoted by The Associated Press.

Despite an international outcry, the Colorado Republican continued to stand by his comments Tuesday, saying he did not intend to offend moderate Muslims during last week's interview with Florida radio talk show host Pat Campbell.>>>snip

Ironically, on the day Turkey's foreign minister was blasting Tancredo in Ankara, his country's U.S. ambassador, Osman Faruk Logoglu, had a prearranged meeting to talk to Tancredo about legislation pending in the International Relations Committee.>>>snip

2. Why don't we blow up his church for making that comment?
How can he say that he doesn't want to offend moderate muslims by blowing up Mecca? If we blow up his church, I'm sure the moderate christians will understand and not be offended, right?

What a douche bag.

3. Tancredo's such a dick
Why is it the only time I ever hear anything from or about this guy it's 'cause he's spouting off his racist or xenophobic views? Being anti-immigrant seems to be his only real issue he advocates in Congress, and he seems to have really made a name for himself doing this.

4. Anti-immigration may be his only real issue
But it gets him the votes from those good people in his district, what do you think that says about the voters who support him?

Because the country they say they represent isn't the one I represent.

The sad thing is a $H!+load of Repubs actually think like this. For instances I remember somebody on Free Republic saying that we should nuke a arabic city everytime one of our troops gets killed.Sure @$$hole i'm sure our dead would just love mass murder and genocide being commited in their name.Stuff like this is the main reason i'm a Dem,could you imagine if someone like Tom Tancredo or those crazies at Free Republic got into power.

18. Our government uses our tax money to broadcast Limbaugh around the world
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 08:01 PM by IanDB1
(On the Armed Forces Radio Network)and Limbaugh says even worse.

Limbaugh touted "Club G'itmo, the Muslim resort"

As part of a new "advertising campaign" for the U.S. detention facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested touting the facility as "Club G'itmo, the Muslim resort," a "tropical paradise down there where Muslim extremists and terrorist wannabes can get together for rest and relaxation." On his website, he is even selling "Club G'itmo" T-shirts that read "I Got My Free Koran and Prayer Rug at G'itmo," "Your Tropical Retreat from the Stress of Jihad," "My Mullah went to Club G'itmo and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt," and "What Happens in G'itmo Stays in G'itmo."

You have no need to wonder what our official message is transmitting to the world;
All Frankin has asked that either his show or AAR would be broadcast as a balance.

The world is listening and watching and has been for many years.

They listen to Limbaugh and they watch Bill O'Reilly.

If I lived in an Arab country, and those two were my picture of America, I'd be making IEDs in my basement.

20. Hey... I thought that Newsweek...
... had blood on its hands for the publishing of the Koran-flushing article? Well according to the Repugs it did.

So if we accept Repug logic (which is hard to do I know), and apply it to Tancredo, then shouldn't he be condemned by the very same people too?

24. Bomb Colorado Springs
The next time one of the RW terrorists bombs or shoots up a women's clinic, and when captured say they were inspired by the writings of Dr. Dobson, how about we just nuke Colorado Springs? Or the next time a Catholic priest molests an altar boy, we just nuke Rome. Makes about as much sense as Tancredo's comment!

This American Christian disavows Tancredo's remarks and urges that his constituents demand his resignation from public life. The man obviously has the sense of a cockroach. I am angry at how Tancredo soils the America I know and love. He has as good as spit on the flag and done this nation dishonor.
