Aussies in Iraq didn't trigger blast: PM

Prime Minister John Howard has told an Australian victim of the London bombings that the terrorist attacks were not a result of allied forces still being in Iraq.

Mr Howard arrived in London from Washington overnight and spent time with his wife Janette visiting Australian women Gillian Hicks and Louise Barry who remain in hospital after this month's bomb attacks.

During his bedside visit to see Ms Barry at University College in London, the Australian woman asked Mr Howard if he believed the bombings were linked to the conflict in Iraq.

But Mr Howard said while everyone was entitled to their opinion, he did not believe there were any such links.
