Hezbollah joins Lebanon cabinet for first time

BEIRUT (AFP) - Lebanon's new prime minister Fuad Siniora unveiled his cabinet which includes for the first time a member of the Shiite Muslim militant group Hezbollah, regarded as terrorist by Washington.

Siniora's cabinet, which was approved by President Emile Lahoud after three previous draft line-ups had been rejected, is the first elected government since Syria ended its three-decade military presence in April.

"It is a coherent team ... chosen to overcome the challenges confronting Lebanon," Siniora told reporters, saying he was proud to have Hezbollah in his cabinet.

Siniora, a 62-year-old former finance minister who was a close ally of slain ex-premier Rafiq Hariri, also pledged that his new government would do everything it could to improve relations with neighbouring Syria.

2. Is bush still bragging how HE caused the elections in Lebanon?
Ignore the fact that Lebanon has had elections for years; BUSH said it was HIS DOING. So is Hezbollah in government also HIS doing? Funny how he's gone quiet on the subject...

3. Remember the front pages
in all the glossy weeklies a few months back? They were all hyping the phony NED "people power" the new domino theory and all the editorials were asking, "was Bush right after all?". Well, duh. OF COURSE he wasn't.

4. "MSM" is very quiet about bush's "success" in getting Hezbollah elected
Just as they're quiet about bush's "success" in Iran's elections, too. And of course not a peep about how the Haitians want Aristide back. The democratically elected leader bush helped overthrow.
