Washington Woman Killed By Suicide Bomber In Iraq

Navy Reservist On Second Tour Of Duty

CENTRALIA, Wash. -- A naval reserve officer from Washington has been killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq.
Regina Clark's family says the reservist was working in Fallujah Thursday night when the bomber ambushed her convoy. At least five Americans were killed in the attack.

Clark had been in the Navy for 22 years and was on her second tour of duty. Her family says she loved what she was doing and where her life was going.

She was the first person from Lewis County to die in Iraq.

She is survived by an 18-year-old son.

3. Ah. I can understand that need. But...
Wouldn't Barbara and Jenna be useful for something like that?

4. Navy medics deploy with Marines
She could have been a corpsman. I have a daughter who came close to taking that job.

they were going to use her for female searches at checkpoints. I believe her real job was in a mess hall. :(

6. I know a Naval Reserve guy in Mosul
one day he's working in Telecom in a cube, a couple weeks later he is in Baghdad and I get emails saying sorry you haven't heard from me in a while but mortars knocked out the internet cafe. He is 41. No one is escaping the carnage.

9. koin certainly sanitized the truth of this attack
"At least five Americans were killed in the attack."

IIRC, five female Marines were killed in the attack which killed Ms. Clark. There's a big difference in perception to Mom and Pop at home between the words "Americans" and "female Marines" (or "women Marines").
