DeLay: Bush credibility issue overblown
WASHINGTON (AP)

--- "When you listen to the rhetoric, you start to wonder which side won. There is no margin of victory that could satisfy them. They didn't want to fight in the first place and they've spewed more rhetoric at President Bush than they ever did at Saddam Hussein," DeLay, R-Texas, said Tuesday.

"They think if they just get a little bit angrier, and a little bit meaner and a little bit louder the American people will start hating the president as much as they do," he said.

DeLay said that Bush "didn't lie. He didn't mislead anybody. His statement was accurate." The majority leader also responded forcefully to a question of whether Tenet should depart the government. "Absolutely not," he said. ---

28. They are right, Bush's credibility is overblown
The fact that anybody thinks he has any is overblown. It is way out of control with these guys. They have no integrity, or morals.

2. And what the fuck would Tom Delay know about "credibility"??
He may very well be the only Texas politician who lies more than the Bushes.

3. Ego?
DeLay is the LAST person in the world who should use the word "overblown." The guy is 5'4", but has a 6'8" ego.

Angry, mean, and loud? Oh please, just add "shrill" and you have DeLay's employment history.

4. Overblown? AMERICAN SOLDIERS DYING FOR LIES IS OVERBLOWN?!
Im speechless.

I cant even imagine what depth of soulless greed it takes to believe that killing good American solders by sending them to die for lies is just something to be overlooked.

7. Didn't Lie? Statement was accurate?
OK, bugman piece of shit, explain this one:

"We gave him a chance to allow the inspectors in, and he wouldn't let them in." -George W. Bush (R-CT)

I'm trying to figure out how this statement, by any stretch of the imagination, is true.

9. What credibility?
This administration is the biggest group of hypocrits.

Just a handle ful of years ago, this gaggle of holier than thou patriots got their draws in an uproar over a BJ. Oh it was so terrible! It was so awful. And they went after Prersidernt Clinton ful force with hammer and tongs. Of course they ignored the fact that no one person was harmed by that BJ. No one died. No government fell domestically or otherwise but the NEOCON rip-slash & Tear brigade kept at it and forced an impeachment trial. And it failed. Clinton was not convicted and finished out his term.

Now, we have a new "lie"! This time by the leader of the rip-slash and tear patrol, President Dubya. This time people did die. Americans, Iraqis, Brits, and God =knows who else. But the same pack of wolves who swolre up and down about how mightily they valued truth, now bands over backwards to pretend this new lie wasnt a lie and the wone who told it didnt tell it and like thew proverbial ostrich, they bustle around with their butts in the air ansd their heads in the san d as though it never happened.

Thats the credibility issue in a nutshell. A lie may not be a lie, depending upon who told it.

Thge LA Times columnist Robert Sheer today called for the impeachment of Bush and Rice. I agree.

45. De Lay Quote:" This is very serious....
We recognize the gravity of the situation."

This was the asshole mouthing off in 1998 about Clinton's sex life. He led the charge for impeachment over Clinton's "lie."
Now this moron, whose brain has obviously been destroyed by pesticide, decides that it's perfectly ok for the chimp to make it up as he goes along. This chickenshit chickenhawk who spent the Vietnam years spraying bugs in Texas has blood on his hands along with every other politician who went along with the junta's outrageous lies.

23. They ALL know they need to smooch Tenet's ass he knows too much.
I like Ruppert the Into The Wilderness guy who wrote "its like a chess game where black has made a fatal error but does not know it yet." He wrote that they will probably make about 20 more moves before they realize how screwed they are. He also wrote that * could have dispatched this by admitting his involvement and rolling a few heads but because he had to blame someone else he dug a deeper hole and will not be able to extricate himself from this mess.

25. projection
n.

8. Psychology.

a. The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or suppositions to others: “Even trained anthropologists have been guilty of unconscious projection—of clothing the subjects of their research in theories brought with them into the field” (Alex Shoumatoff).

b. The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone or something as a naive or unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt.

psychological term for their behavior. Listen to what they accuse others of - and through that know what they have done and are planning to do.

One might as well have expected the head Nazi in the Reichstag to badmouth Hitler, or Molotov to badmouth Stalin.

Same principle. Exact same principle.

29. This part is from the republican playbook during Clinton's presidency.
"They think if they just get a little bit angrier, and a little bit meaner and a little bit louder the American people will start hating the president as much as they do," he said.

Even though DeLay may be the most vile, foul, evil, scrofulous, corrupt, and criminal piece of filth in American political history and he typically turns the stomachs of decent people, the most disturbing part of the article to me are these statements by the former Comrade Squealer:
"We don't know if it's true but nobody — but nobody — can say it was wrong," White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said. "That is not known."
. . .

The White House also drew a distinction between the way Bush handled intelligence claims about Iraq in a speech he gave in Cincinnati last October compared with his State of the Union address in January.
. . .

Fleischer said it was an apples-and-oranges difference because the Cincinnati speech mentioned Niger while the State of the Union speech talked about all of Africa, and that there was different reporting from the CIA. "So it's an apple in Cincinnati and an orange in the State of the Union," he said. "The two do not compare that directly."

These statements are disturbing because I fear too many average people may believe them.
