(Spain)Conservative gays threaten to 'out' party members

MADRID (Reuters) - Gays in Spain's main opposition party could reveal the names of homosexuals in its ranks unless the party backs down from its opposition to gay marriage.

Parliament in April approved a Socialist government initiative legalizing gay marriage over the opposition of the right-of-center opposition Popular Party (PP) and the Roman Catholic Church.

The PP and the Church are backing a street protest against gay marriage called for Madrid by a group promoting the traditional family, but the party's Gay Platform wants the PP to reverse its support for the demonstration.

Gay members of the PP who continue to oppose gay marriage run the risk of being "outed" -- or forced out the closet -- by the party's Gay Platform, the platform's president told state radio on Tuesday.

Normally, I'm opposed to those who wish to "out" people ... but under circumstances like these, I think it's great! Imagine if all the hypocritical gays in the GOP were outed moments after signing anti-gay legislation or delivering an anti-gay speech!

3. My take on this is:
That in politics, living by the golden rule is political suicide. You'll just get taken advantage of by unethecal bastards, like republicans. So while it would be nice to be able to treat everyone as we would want to be treated ourselves, as far as politics goes, I'm more than happy with extending to people the level of courtesy they extend to others. Meaning if you're going to make peoples sexuality a matter of public policy, then I've got no problem with people making your sexuality an issue.

IF you're a republican who is against all this crap, or at least silent on it, then I'm much more in favor of letting you keep your secrets. Though, I must say, my patience is begining to wear thin with these christo-facist enablers as well...

4. Absolutely! Expose those frauds!
Hats off to the Gay Platform. Much energy and imagination needs to go into killing off this absurd and hateful homophobic political marriage of a preposterous archaic corrupt and venal church to a supposedly secular democratic state.

Out 'em all!
