Missile test successful, report says - TW 1,000km targets in SE China
Edited on Sun Jun-05-05 11:39 PM by dArKeR
A Chinese-language newspaper yesterday said that the military has successfully tested a 1,000km-range cruise missile, the Hsiung Feng II-E (Brave Wind). The military would not confirm the report.

"The ministry has no comment on the progress of any weapons under development,"said Rear Admiral Liou Chih-chien (???), spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense(MND).

The local newspaper said that the Hsiung Feng cruise missile will be able to hit targets in southeast China. A small number of cruise missiles will go into production later this year or next year, the report said.

Taiwan, the friendliest most peaceful place on Earth does need protection from the Satan Communist Beast. But still isn't this so much having Bush and GOP Crime Family screwing up the world as best as they could. The GOP Chistian Armageddon goal will soon be realized. God Bless the Repukes!

3. How do you think Beijing will react to this?
Do you think the hardline will push for action before these missiles are produced? I've never known Beijing's true intentions here, whether they are serious about attempting annexation of the ROC or if it is just rhetoric. The people who think its just rhetoric point to how much trade goes on between the two not to mention between the PRC and the US, but militarists in all countries prove that a nation's foreign policy is not always rational

6. The real question is, what if Taiwan reinitiates a nuclear program?
They had one back in the 70s, though they've since signed the NNPT. With their technological base, it probably wouldn't be very hard for them to produce nukes within a couple of years. It would, after all, be the ultimate guarantee against invasion--in nuclear math, 500 is not neccessarily greater than 5.
