ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A lawsuit claims that police in the northeast Missouri town Moberly used a Taser to shock a man up to 15 times while he suffered an allergic episode.

David Lash Senior claims he was left unconscious for days and suffered temporary kidney failure. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says the 40-year-old man is seeking more than $5 million from Taser International Incorporated and unspecified damage from the city of Moberly and several officers.

The case was filed in federal court in St. Louis on Tuesday. <snip>

1. Now the question is do tasers make it "easier" for cops to beat the crap
out of people. I mean they would do this with nightsticks.

2. Former Hendry Deputy Charged With Beating Suspect (FL)
POSTED: 2:51 pm EDT June 3, 2005

LABELLE, Fla. -- A former Hendry County sheriff's deputy who quit after the video camera in his car caught him kicking and beating a suspect has been charged with misdemeanor battery, the state attorney's office said Friday. <snip>

Phillips did not stop when a deputy tried to stop him. He pulled over once, but drove away when deputies rushed toward his Jeep. When he was pulled over a second time, the videotape shows Childers running to the Jeep and swinging a large flashlight at Phillips at least four times, the Fort Myers News-Press reported in Friday's edition.

The deputies are then seen pulling Phillips from the Jeep and throwing him to the ground as they punched him and kicked him. The deputies also used a Taser stun gun and pepper spray on Phillips, the sheriff's report said. <snip>
