Baghdad. Three civilian Iraqis travelling in a minibus were killed, reportedly shot dead by US forces, AFP reported, citing officials.
"American forces opened fire on a minibus in the Dura district, in southern Baghdad, killing three people and wounding four others," said a defence ministry source.

US military spokesman Lieutenant Jamie Davis confirmed the incident but could not say at what time the bus shooting occurred.

"The details are sketchy and we don't know who was involved," Davis said.

Bus driver Abbas Abbas said US troops opened fire after he pulled over to get out of their way.

3. Just another day in the free-fire zone that Iraq has become to US troops
The wonder is that they haven't killed civilians at a much higher rate than they already have. Our troops must be conserving ammo.

5. The gut-wrenching truth is that we have no idea how many

Iraqi civilians have been slaughtered by US troops so far. I have a deep, deep feeling that the 100,000, European estimate is far too conservative. And far too many Americans simply do not give a damn. It makes me sick, ashamed, and angry....

6. "Details are sketchy"
Hell, we could have one of those arena surround Imax video shoots, and the military would simply deny responsibility. Or conduct a thorough investigation and glory be! let itself off the hook again. In the best interests of the killers and the government, of course of course.

7. Iraq is now a free for all Murder zone
Everybody shoots everybody at random. Unarmed civilians are more fun to kill for both sides.

8. Anyone wanna guess how many resistance fighters this incident just made?
I'm sure when their relatives are done burying these people, some among them may swear revenge.

16. How would you react if an invading army killed your family?
I know it would become my life's work to extract revenge from the invaders.

This is what the amchair "kill 'em all" freepers are too stupid to understand.

10. All this is Bush's fault, ultimately
He chose this unnecessary and illegal war.

I thought the latest Baghdad operation was supposed to be an "Iraqi National Guard" affair.

Husam Abdul-Zahra, 17, left, grieves with his friend Haidar Hussein, after Husam was wounded and two of his brothers were killed when the minibus they were travelling in was attacked near the previous al-Rasheed Camp in southeastern Baghdad Thursday, May 26, 2005. An Iraqi police official said that seven Iraqi secondhand goods vendors on the bus were shot, killing three and wounding four when American troops opened fire on the vehicle, whilst the U.S. military said it had heard a report of a bus being attacked, but did not know who was involved.
