Rep. who filed successful complaint v. DeLay: 'web is getting bigger'
Ok...now we have a story!

http://rawstory.com/exclusives/byrne/chris_bell_responds_TRMPAC_526

The former Democratic congressman who filed a successful ethics complaint against House Majority Tom DeLay (R-TX) last year told RAW STORY the ruling against a DeLay political action committee is a sign that DeLay’s case for innocence is hemorrhaging.

“Obviously he was hoping the judge would rule in favor of the defendants and he would have declared it a great victory,” former Texas Rep. Chris Bell told RAW STORY Thursday. “And now I think that he has to realize that his arguments aren’t going anywhere, and the web is getting bigger and bigger.

“I think it also has to be somewhat of a wakeup call for his colleagues that have already been indicted that their arguments could very well fail,” he added. “And if they do, I think that might motivate some of them to start spilling the beans about exactly what transpired.”

<...>

“TRMPAC was Tom DeLay,” he continued. “He created it, and he oversaw, it, and so for him now to pretend like he was blind deaf and dumb to everything that was going on is rather absurd.”

Bell also mentions considering running for Gov. of Texas in 2006.

1. 2006 Governor's race is going to be interesting
Kay Bailey and Gov. Goodhair could have a nasty primary fight. Kinky Friedman is going to be amusing as a third party candidate. This could be a fun campaign to watch.

2. Here's how you'll know whose side Rove is on....
If the gay rumors about Perry suddenly hit the mainstream during the campaign, we'll know they're backing Hutchinson. And you're right-it's going to be a VERY interesting campaign.

4. That is hard to imagine
Since Rove virtually created Rick Perry from a spineless Democrat

3. tom delay is one of the most despicable,
hypocritical, lying members of the bushreich. I say "one of" because there too many to chose from.

delay says(if his lips are moving..he's lying) that Dems are the party of personal destruction? HA! Is that why the repuke party set out to destroy Al Gore and John Kerry and that idiot john mccain?..Cause they weren't the party(Greedy Oily Polluters)of PERSONAL DESTRUCTION?

They can't win in a fair fight so they have to redistrict to lose the valuble Dems.

I would love to see it, but the risk is huge.

After getting defeated in his congressional race, another big loss might finish him off politically, just as it did Gary Mauro.

It is hard to imagine that even Jesus could get elected on the Democratic ticket in Texas. And that is saying a lot in this fundie-infested state.

6. He also made mention of this when he spoke at the..
Austin chapter of Democracy for Texas a couple of weeks back.

He appears to be planning to run, at least I hope he is. So far he's the only Democrat that I know of expressing serious interest. If he does his strong stand on ethics would be the cornerstone of his platform.

7. He's going to have to get the voting machine fraud issue fixed first.
Corruption runs deep and wide in the lone star state.
