Commers resigns Commerce Department post
Dane Smith, Star Tribune

Published July 15, 2003 COMM15

Tim Commers, one of a group of high-level Republicans in the Pawlenty administration who have come under fire for links to penalized telecommunications businesses, resigned Monday night as a senior executive officer of the Commerce Department.
--snip--
Earlier this year, Attorney General Mike Hatch accused the Commerce Department of giving a break in a settlement to a Florida insurance company that also gave money to the Pawlenty campaign. As campaign manager, Commers handled that contribution. Pawlenty administration officials insisted that the donation had nothing to do with the penalty and that the department's treatment of the company was less favorable than Hatch himself had proposed.

But it was Commers' ties to telecommunications companies started or owned by Baer that pushed him to resign.

Commers goes on to whine about how he is being tired of being a lightening rod for foes of Pawlenty and that he was gonna leave any way so why not leave today. He added, So there, for emphasis. Ok, maybe not, but he is a petchulant little puke.

The wheels seem to be coming off the corrupt and morally bankrupt repugglies, nationwide and here in Minnesota.

2. Pawlenty is either a flat-out crook or too incompetent to be dogcatcher
I've been in the business world for a while now and one thing I can tell you is that if your company is looking at a quarter million dollars in fines from several different states THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS KNOWS ABOUT IT!

Now little governor Timmy is claiming he had no idea whatsoever anything wrong was afoot. Yep, mmm hhmmm. That's why you had to Minnesota's favorite GOP callgirl Pat Awada run your internal audit for you, right?

I'm looking forward to seeing the bloody lot of 'em double-bunked in the Stillwater State Pen.

Timmy, meet your new cellmate MadDog McGraw - you don't want to know what happened to his last cellmate....

No idea anything was wrong... It was a friggin' start up company. Not only are these "personal responsibility" repugs deficit in that area, they appear to be incredibly lousy businessmen.

8. I can't wait....
I've got at least two friends who no longer have jobs due to Timmies policies and I imagine I am not far behind. I really want that bastard to go back to selling phone service - from prison.
