A great way for the misadministration to put the blame for an extended occupation squarely on the occupied...

2. ummm.. they want us gone NOW...

I'm sure that they feel they can make do with this new council and it's time for us to go.

6. Yup...we should be expected our troops home tomorrow....
Oh wait, since the Iraqi council are Bush's puppets, they'll still be there for several years. This way, Iraq will take the blame for our continued occupation and Bush will look like he acually supports our troops....:grr:

3. Wow
"The U.S. administrator for Iraq said Tuesday the length of time American forces remain in the country was up to the Iraqi people"

so they'll be coming home today then?

4. Ha ha ha
This is quite funny. I'm very sure that this governing council is wholly independent and I'm very sure that this administration will obey it's wishes.

It's like new comedy everyday when I read the news.

7. This is not what Rumsfeld said on Sunday
According to Rumsfeld, the U.S. will stay in Iraq until the war on terror is over and all U.S. enemies are eliminated.

And since the war on terror is open ended, the U.S. will never leave Iraq.

That is, until the Iraqis throw them out.

8. Or, more likely, they'll continue to come home
one or two at a time. In a box.

9. Seems like Iraqis are voting with bullets and RPG rounds...
But I guess it's all, you know, about who counts the votes. :D

10. "We need to undo the enormous economic damage"
"that has been done here over the last 30 years."

That's why they'll ask us to stay. Yeah, that's the ticket.

11. I would love to see the question
asked to *, Cheney, or Powell:

"If the new Iraqi governing council refuses to sell oil to us will we honor that decision?"

Kinda lays it on the line, doncha think?
